us like plants,trees and total greenery in
our home and surroundings as it not only
provides fresh air but also a total aesthetic
and pleasant environment around us.
Protecting Nature and planting saplings is
one of the greatest initiatives that is
undertaken under the Haritha Haram
Programme by the Government of
Telangana. Let's take an active part in
it and make a difference.
10 Percent from the Municipal Budget to be
used for the Haritha Haram Budget said
Sri K. T. Rama Rao(KTR),Telangana Minister
for Municipal Administration and Urban
Development during a video conference with
Additional Collectors and Municipal
Chairpersons at Pragathi Bhavan.
He instructed the concerned officials and
alsothe public representatives of the state
to actively participate in the Haritha Haram
which is tobegin from June 20th 2020. The
Telangana State Government is focusing
to increase the tree cover from 24 to 35
percent
Shri KTR also addressed local heads of
municipal administration to take
responsibility to protect the trees that
will be planted in their respective areas.
He said that to observe every Friday in
a week as 'Green Friday 'and actively
take measures to protect the sapling
that will be planted during the Haritha
Haram this month and at least 85 percent
of saplings should stay alive. Furthermore,
KTR also said that special officers would be
appointed to review the Haritha Haram
Programme from time to time.
