During the de-escalation process, 3 personnel of Indian Army were martyred in the violent face-off at India-China Border.


New Delhi, India, 16th June 2020. On June 
15th Night, two soldiers and a Colonel-rank 
officer of Indian Army were killed in a 
violent Face-off with the troops of China 
in the Galwan Valley area of Ladakh. 
This incident took place in Eastern Ladakh 
during the efforts to de-escalate the prevailing 
tensions along Line of Actual Control(LAC).
The deaths were caused due to thrown rods
and stones used by the soldiers.

Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi 
is having a meeting with Rajnath on this 
matter.The number of casualties on Chinese 
side is not known. Since 1975, these are 
the first Indian casualties. In Delhi, along
 with Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, 
Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh 
is reviewing the current situation 
after the clash on LAC. 

One of the three soldiers killed in 
the clash between Indian and Chinese 
forces was Colonel Bikkumalla Santoshbabu,
from Suryapet of Telangana state.Officials 
informed the family of his death following
 the incident. Santosh has been doing duty 
in the borders for over a year and a half. 
He is survived by wife Santoshi, daughter 
Abhinaya (9) and son Anirudh (4). T
hey are all staying in Delhi.

Santosh completed his education at Korukonda 
Sainik School. Father Upendar is a retired 
manager at State Bank.. Santosh moved to 
Hyderabad three months ago. His family members 
were saddened by the news of Santosh's death. 
His aunt collapsed after knowing this 
information and  relatives rushed her to 
the hospital.
